A Winning History

Victory Engines, formerly Myles Engineering, was founded in 1926 by Merridth Myles. Merridth built engines for, and raced in, the AAA sanctioning body as well as IMCA until 1941 when World War II was at its height abroad. At that time, the company switched from building race engines to manufacturing parts for the war effort. When the war ended and racing resumed, Myles Engineering converted back to building racing engines. In the years following the war Merridth brought his son, Gary, into the family business and together they continued to build engines. Upon Merridth's death in 1963, Gary took assumed the duties of running the business until his retirement in 1995. When Gary retired, he sold the business to longtime employee Ray Banyas. Ray continues to own and operate Myles Engineering, now called Victory Engines, with more than 30 years of continuous experience in the Victory shop.

Over the years, Victory has served racers and enthusiasts ranging from the Stock Car, Super Modified and Sprint Car ranks to the quarter-mile drag racer, both local and national. Some of Victory's customers have included the likes of Doug Hevron, Bently Warren, Joe Gosek, Steve Groia and Dave Simard to name a few. The 'Wall of Fame' at Victory proudly displays photos from nearly all forms of motor racing.
